Rays vs. A’s lineups for Tuesday, with Jalen Beeks slated for bulk innings

The Rays woke up today atop the AL East, and they’ll try and stay there as they face the A’s again tonight with Ryne Stanek as the opener.

The Rays are looking to stay atop the AL East today when they take on the A’s again tonight at 7.

UPDATE, 5:17: Catcher Travis d’Arnaud is continuing to work out at 1B and has impressed enough that he is likely to get a start there soon, manager Kevin Cash said, as the Rays face a bunch of lefty starters. ... Sounds like Joey Wendle could be back on Thursday. The plan is for him to play another rehab game for Triple-A Durham tonight and come back to St. Pete to be re-evaluated Wednesday. ... The Rays signed and introduced top pick Greg Jones today. ... Stanek has been working two innings of late as the opener, but may be shortened up tonight.

DEVELOPING: Ryne Stanek will be the opener for the Rays tonight, with lefty Jalen Beeks slated to work the bulk of the innings. Beeks is 5-0. 2.76 this season in 15 appearances, and 10-0 since joining the Rays in July, the longest winning streak in team history.

The A’s are starting veteran Mike Fiers, who earlier this season threw his second career no-hitter.
