Tampa Bay’s fastest selling used car is a Prius. Do you drive the slowest selling car?

Apparently, a lot of people in Tampa Bay are trying to get their hands on a Toyota Prius. An analysis by iSeeCars shows that the eco-friendly car is the fastest-selling used vehicle in the area, averaging 19.2 days on the market.

That might not be surprising considering that the top five fastest-selling cars nationally, iSeeCars said, are alternative-fuel vehicles.

"Itís important to know how long vehicles stay on dealer lots because slower-moving cars can present negotiation opportunities for consumers," said Phong Ly, iSeeCars CEO, in a release.

The slowest-selling car in the bay area, the analysis found, was the Ford Edge, averaging 47.3 days before sale. iSeeCars included used vehicles between one and three years old. Nationally, used cars average just over 46 days on a lot before they are purchased.
