PASCO — A Port Richey man died Sunday after his motorcycle slammed into a car making a U-turn at the intersection of U.S. 19 N. and Houston Avenue.

Seth Monroe Majors, 31, was driving a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on the outside lane of U.S. 19, approaching Houston Avenue at about 10:10 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Nicholas Joseph Bonaimo, 83, of Hudson, was driving a 2015 Buick LaCrosse northbound on U.S. 19, in the left turn lane.

At Houston Avenue, Bonaimo tried to make a U-turn and and entered the motorcyclist’s path. The two vehicles collided and Majors was thrown from his motorcycle, the agency said.

Majors was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where he died from his injuries.

Officials said alcohol was not a factor in Bonaimo’s driving, and that it’s not yet known if it was a factor for Majors.

Charges in the accident are pending.
