GeckoFest: This year, the 19th annual Labor Day weekend party and festival is themed “Geckos of the Round Table.” Expect lots of King Arthur costumes, plus music on two stages, hundreds of vendors, kids’ activities, acrobats, magicians, daredevils, fire eaters and costumed characters. Free. 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday. Downtown Gulfport.

VetArtSpan Showcase: Check out the art and hear the stories that resulted from the yearlong collaboration with area veterans, civilians and local and arts national organizations. This will be a deeply personal evening of veteran performance, dialogue, entertainment and inspiration. See how art as therapy helped build bridges among veterans, artists and civilians. Saturday in the Square: Main Street Zephyrhills hosts this free event that will include a Touch-A-Truck for kids with police cars, fire engines and construction trucks. There will also be entertainment by Mr. Tommy, vendors and more. Free. 5-8 p.m. Saturday. Fifth Avenue, downtown Zephyrhills.

Children’s Board Free Tuesday: The hands-on museum and the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County join forces to offer free admission from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Glazer Children’s Museum, 110 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa. (813) 443-3861. glazermuseum.org.
