Deputy's wife texted 'Kirk has lost his mind' before murder-suicide, friend says
LAND O’LAKES — Samantha Keithley sent a series of disturbing text messages late Sunday, complaining about her husband to a longtime friend.“Kirk has lost his mind Kristin,” she wrote in one text to friend Kristin Kellin.
A 2.2-ton load of dead-fish infested seaweed is dumped on Monday at the Pinellas County Solid Waste Facility's landfill. It was removed from Tierra Verde earlier Monday morning. The scenario is being completed around a dozen times each day as dead fish are loaded into bins that then get hauled to the county's solid waste disposal plant. If they're taken from the water, they go into the county's waste-to-energy incinerator. If they're scooped from the sand, they are put into the landfill, because sand can't go into the incinerator. Any dolphins, manatees or sea turtles are sent to the state's Marine Mammal Pathology Laboratory near the Eckerd College campus for a necropsy so biologists can verify that Red Tide was the cause of death.
